If you go to that link there are two tools you can download that will help you to clean your home computer should it get infected with the conflicker worm. I hope you won’t need it and that you have taken the necessary steps to protect your computer but if not this will help to get it clean.
I would highly recommend that you do the following things tonight on your home computer before you go to bed.
A. Backup your personal data (MS Office data , pictures, video, email etc) to a separate drive or media (USB drive, DVD ROM etc…)
B. Run Windows Update (Start / All programs)
C. Run Windows Update until it says your machine does not need any more updating (this could take a while)
D. Update your Anti Virus software definitions by running Live Update (usually just right click the icon in the system tray and select Live Update)
E. If you don’t have Anti Virus software Google AVG and download the FREE Home user version and install it
F. If you do not have a good Anti spyware software on your system Google Spybot Search and Destroy (they have Free personal edition)
G. Install the Anti Spyware software you chose and let it scan your system
H. Run a full scan of all the drives on your system with AV software (you can do this just before you go to bed and let it run)
If you do not feel like doing all of those things you could just run the risk of getting infected and let someone like me clean it for you OR you could throw your pc in the nearest dumpster and go buy a Mac. J That should get a giggle out of all your MAC owners out there. J
