About Light Our World….

My name is James Moffitt and I live in Duck Ditch USA with my wife Katy and two of my children, Justin and Kristina.  Justin is 13 and he loves geocaching and video games and Kristina is 16 and she loves watching movies.  I created the Lightourworld.com domain shortly after our daughter Jessica Ann passed away after 14 months of fighting a brain tumor.  This will be a Christ and family oriented blog with a little bit of technology writing to add some flavor.

Katy and I have been married 18+ years and we have four children.  I work as an I.T. Manager for a resort rental company on Kiawah Island SC and  my wife is a full time student who is pursuing her Masters Degree in Education.  Katy already has her BS in Child Development and Psychology and now she is taking her educational training and career to the next level.

Our family attends and serves at Grace Fellowship Church in Goose Creek.  We have been at GFC now for 8 + years and consider the folks there a part of our extended family.  My daughter Kristina and I sing on the Praise team with two other ladies and Katy runs the computer that projects the song lyrics on the two large screens at either end of the sanctuary.

This blog will hopefully be a reflection of a normal family who attempt to live a faith based existance with the power of Christ in our lives.  We are not perfect but the one whom we worship is.  We struggle with all sorts of issues that life throws at us just like you but hopefully our faith in Christ reveals who Christ is in us.  At some point we all face this question.  What will we do with Jesus Christ?  Is he God or is he just a great teacher?  Are their really many gods and many paths to God and Jesus is one of many?  No matter what the question I have probably heard it.  I do not have all of the answers but I do know in whom I put my trust and faith.

Just as the name of our domain says Jesus is the “light of our world“.  He brings light, happiness and freedom to each of us even though we live in this world that has so much pain, sorrow, tragedy and darkness.  Our desire is to share the love of God that he has placed within us with anyone who will listen.  We realize that not everyone shares our faith and that is ok.  Our purpose is not that of change but rather our purpose is to be who God wants us to be with his help where he has placed us.

Thank you for your visit and I hope that you will visit us again soon.
